Following the Sun Crossing the ocean of an evening with thousands of containers on board, aiming straight for the setting sun - just beautiful! Course 287 degrees,
100 sea miles east of the Maledives. By the way, in case those 287 degrees don’t mean much to you, here’s a crash course in navigation: zero is due north, 90 due east, 180 due south, and 270 due west - just add on 90 each time. And
270 + 45 = 315 degrees is north-west. So 287 degrees - the P&O Southampton’s present course - is west by north-west (more or less).
