Karin Sander's works are related to spaces and situations. They intervene poetically in everyday contexts and reinterpret them. In her latest series the
artist focuses on people.
Using digital 3D images, she creates scaled-down miniatures of people that faithfully reproduce every detail of their physical appearance and clothing. Created using only computer technology, they are at
one and the same time individual and schematic. As it happens, one of the first people to stand model for a bodyscan in 1999 was Ayse Erkmen, whose "Shipped Ships" project initiated the "Moment" art series.
